I mean, look: I'm not going to sit here and tell you that we never feed our dogs bones, because a) it's false and b) nobody would believe me anyway.
However, we are all well-acquainted with the risks of bone-chewing, and we've all seen in person the effect a bone can have on a patient's teeth, gums, and internal organs, not to mention the risk of marrow bones getting stuck around a patient's lower jaw (yes, this has happened MULTIPLE times).
So this is a bit of a Simon Says-type situation- do as we say, not as we do, and avoid giving your dogs bones. If you do, please monitor them closely while they're chewing and take the bone away when you can't. We thank you, and your dogs do too!
