Annual exams ARE more important for your pet than they are for you.

Because, while we can generally tell when our pets feel REALLY lousy, animals generally are conditioned to conceal any signs of illness. They're particularly good at concealing evidence for diseases that just make you feel kind of lousy, which are often diseases we can catch with routine bloodwork and physical exams.
