Dr. Rhonda Appling, DVM
Dr. Rhonda Appling was born and raised in Carlsbad, NM. Her love and compassion towards animals developed at a very young age from the many pets that left their paw prints on her heart. She soon realized that animal health was her true passion. After graduating from Carlsbad High School in 2005, Rhonda moved to the Midwest to attend Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. Rhonda then moved back west and obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University.
Rhonda enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has a strong interest in soft tissue surgery, ultrasound, and cardiology. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the New Mexico Veterinary Medical Association.
When not working, Rhonda enjoys exploring Santa Fe and the surrounding area with her bulldog named Kussmaul. She also enjoys riding her 848 EVO Ducati motorcycle- if the weather permits, of course. While at home, Rhonda enjoys baking desserts, planting flowers, playing the piano, watching Netflix on the couch, and backyard BBQs.
