Dr. Nicole Walrath
Dr. Nicole Walrath is originally from Elkhorn, Nebraska. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries and Wildlife from University of Nebraska. After a few years in wildlife ecology, conservation research and diagnostics laboratories, she decided to further pursue her interests in animal health and welfare via a career in veterinary sciences. Dr. Walrath graduated from the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in 2015. During vet school, she had the opportunities to live and study in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.
While Nicole enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine, she has a keen interest in preventative medicine, exotic/wildlife medicine, and enjoys performing dental and soft tissue surgery. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the New Mexico Veterinary Medical Association. While providing tentative medical care and diagnostics for patients, she strives to provide an open, transparent dialogue with owners.
Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan, along with their pets Tikaani (Northern Inuit), Islay (terrier cross) and Tibbs (Bengal). They love cooking, traveling, trail running and exploring the wonderful outdoor opportunities of New Mexico.
