The Medical Center for Cats
at Smith Veterinary Hospital
The feline hospital's Luisa St. entrance is open from 7:30 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday and from 8 AM to 4 PM on Saturdays. On Sundays (8 AM to 4 PM) we admit feline patients through the entrances on Alta Vista St.; during urgent care hours (6 PM to 10 PM, Monday through Friday), we admit them through the urgent care entrance off of Alta Vista St. on the west side of the building.
If you've ever owned a cat, you understand that they are unlike any other pet. Many people have claimed that their cats actually own them, and there is certainly evidence to suggest that's the truth. From cats' subtle hints that we should dangle a string for them to their sometimes less-than-subtle prompts that convince us to feed them treats, cat owners are in love with their pets' playful curiosity and soothed by the way cats purr their way through the house.
Our philosophy at Smith Veterinary Hospital has always been to offer the best quality of care to our clients and their pets. The understanding that cats are very different in their anatomy and physiology and in their needs and behavior patterns led us to build a new facility devoted to feline medicine. The Medical Center for Cats was designed to accommodate the special requirements of our feline patients while providing state-of-the-art care. We now provide an entirely separate place where cats and their owners are able to relax without being exposed to the noise and stress associated with sharing a common space with dogs.
Our staff is made up of a group of veterinarians, assistants, and receptionists with expertise or interest in feline medicine and a genuine appreciation for cats. Your cat will also enjoy the benefits of our in-house ultrasound and digital radiography as well as full laboratory services to enable our veterinarians to quickly get a diagnosis and implement treatment. For your convenience, we also have an in-house pharmacy to fill your cat's prescriptions.
