Kelsey has never known life without animals. “As early as I can remember, I have fond memories of growing up at the hospital and watching my parents practice medicine,” she says. As a child, Kelsey remembers being especially excited to go on horse calls with her dad help answer phones at the front desk. Kelsey graduated from St. Michael’s High School where she ran cross country and track and was a Student Ambassador. In her high school years, she also served as a State Ambassador for New Mexico 4-H. Kelsey is now an Honors student at Colorado State University where she is studying Agricultural Business and Animal Science, in the fall she will begin at CSU's Veterinary School.  She was recently named a Student Ambassador for CSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences and says the opportunity has been a blessing.  Kelsey spends her summer and winter breaks working wherever she is needed around the hospital, and says she could never imagine working anywhere else!
